RankForward is an independent AI search optimization consultancy. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), xAI (Grok), Perplexity, or any other AI platform provider.

Our services involve querying these platforms as end users to record how AI engines describe and recommend businesses. We have no special access, insider knowledge, or preferential treatment from any AI provider.

What Is Not Guaranteed

We do not guarantee scores, rankings, citations, being recommended by any AI engine, lead counts, or revenue. AI answers change on their own, run to run.

What we commit to: the deliverables and your report day, six engines scanned each cycle or shown as failed, one revision round per package.

How the Measurement Works, and Its Limits

Each cycle we ask the same questions of six AI engines and record what each one said, quoted where it answered. A run that fails is reported as failed, never as a zero. Cycle one is a starting measurement; later cycles are compared with it only where the samples allow, and the report says "not compared this cycle" when they do not.

Results vary with the industry, the market (local questions and national questions behave differently), the depth and accuracy of your existing online presence, what competitors are doing, and the platforms' own model and data updates — which can change answers independently of any work done. No two businesses see identical results, even with the same work.

Emerging Field

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is an emerging discipline. Our content methods come from the GEO study published at ACM KDD 2024 (Princeton University, Georgia Tech, the Allen Institute for AI and IIT Delhi); its results describe the methods in the researchers' test, not any one business. Practices in this field change as the platforms change, and we update our methods accordingly.
